Anyone have a flat mast step they want to get rid of?
NOT going to use it on the mast, so don’t worry…

For anyone who has an interest, I just took my new genny out for a sail on San Francisco Bay.
It’s a Quantum 155 kevlar. The extra jib tracks were placed according to Terry’s instructions. The winds were 5-10 kts, crew weight 300lb.
The sail seemed quite strong, pointed well with good acceleration. Good shape fit. All in all we’re very pleased.

I frequently single-hand, and I’m thinking about adding some winches on the deck, about even with the traveller, and a pair of cleats, a little ways aft. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

Sunday on Kerr Lake NC: While sailing with my brother-in-law, and sipping rum laced tea, we got involved in a casual downwind race with a Catalina 29 (with asymmetrical), Hunter 26, Hunter 28, Hunter 36 in about 10 mph breeze. We were flying our main and a 150. We stayed with them and passed some of them. The J22 is a sweet boat!

Last time I tried to lift the boat with a crane the lifting ring sheared off at the joint with the floor ( it was badly rusted…check yours!!!). Luckily it never got off the water. Is it possible to carve around the remaining bolt and reattach the ring? Will that weaken its keel holding capacity? What is the material around the bolt …fiberglass? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Doing a complete rebuild of a J22. Anyone have measurements for deck hardware placement? Looking specifically for Jib tracks and Chainplates.

The class rules specify a pole lenght of 2670mm between pole bearing surfaces. Does that mean overall lenght (as in J24) or extrusion lenght?

ATTENTION ANY J22’s IN/NEAR SAN FRANCISCO/MONTEREY BAY’
The Great Pumpkin Regatta is coming up in San Francisco, October 25/26. Buoy racing Saturday and a pursuit race Sunday around Angel Island and Alcatraz.
Free Beer/Party Saturday night at Richmond Yacht Club with band.
We are trying to get a J22 one design for Saturday. So far we have 2 J22’s from Monterey (Trinity and Tekeela) and likely 1 or 2 from Cal Maritime in San Francisco. We need 5 for our own start, we get our own fleet with 3, but the more the merrier.
